Not that I haven't had enough things to write about, but in all honesty, I have just been swamped with work. Taking A Plunge Into Web 2.0!

For quite sometime, I have been putting off looking into the Web 2.0, but last night after a remarkable connection with some positive lwomen, I decided that it was time I made an extra effort. Afterall, not only was I being bombarded left and right with emails about the wonders of this "new societal fury, but I felt I owe it to my clients to find out what the whole excitement is all about.

So what I did was to sign up with twitter and even tried to sign up with facebook, but promply met with my limitations! I have to inform you that  when it comes to signing up on any portal on the internet I always find myself groping around and wasting much too much time. This time it wasn't any better. I suppose that is why I have kept putting off joining.

Change, change, CHANGE, what is that ? I asked myself. A moment of stepping in and taking control of that which you know you can become with more people involved. That's why I have finally mustered the courage now to also move into the new era of 2.0 and I'm determined to make it work. 

Great, I feel that I have made the first successful move with twitter. Now I have to go back and check what I messed up with signing on at Facebook. Grunt! I certainly hope I am able to meet some fellow twitters or book facers (?) to chirp in with some clear cut suggestions.

Well, what is that about taking the bull by the horn..? It is certainly appears sometimes to be the only way to move on. Don't you just love CHANGE, sigh!      

The Power of Inner Peace

The times we live in challenge us to seek deeply within our souls for answers to many issues. I have been working day and night in my Retreat Wellness Centre for women on a special project which I'm hoping will facilitate attaining more relaxation for our clients at the centre. Although I enjoy the work tremendously, it is taking a toll on me.

Last night I decided to tune in more pofoundly than I had been doing recently. So I lit a candle and put on one of my favourite cds to help me relax and go within. I was amazed at the length of time it took me to fully relax and completely free my mind of various accumulated thoughts and bodily tension!

As I kept on focusing on my breathing and clearing my mind of many chatters, I began to let go of all tensions which have built up over the entire day. Then suddenly I heard myself humming to a sound I heard within myelf. I kept on repeating the humming slowly breathing out and leaving out the humming when I breathed in.

Incredible! The humming intensified my relaxation and I felt a deep sense of peace washing over me as I continued. My body went into a motionless silence as I felt its weightlessness.

Now mind you I know about "toning" and I have used several background music for toning whenever I feel tensed or stressed, but this time it was different. It was as if the sound came from inside of me and showed my body the path to fully and completely release all baggage in a most simple and subtle manner.

I became an observer as well as a conduit. The humming imparted me with a sense of deep inner peace  and strength which I hadn't been able to attain for a long time. This state of being helped to remind me that we do not have to wait to replenish ourself. It is possible at each moment and only requires conscious inner attunement.

When I woke up at 5 AM this morning, I felt rejuvenated, alert and strong. It was as if something had shifted within me and my heart was filled with love and deep gratitude.

What we all require at this difficult time is regular inner communion with our source, the spirit essence within us. It can remind us to reach deeply within and open ourself to the source of light around us and connect with it to replenish our soul and body.

Successful Change begins with a burning DESIRE and a DECISION

As much as we all tend to resist changes, it is a fact that change pulls us forward and helps us develop our hidden talents and intrinsic strengths.

When we are faced by a sudden change, initially we may feel overwhelmed and even panic, but once the anxiety wears off, most people begin to embrace the novelty feeling of excitement and new challenge, because it is the natural thing to do. Like most people, I have also experienced many changes in my life: some challenging, others less overwhelming. Looking back now, I can clearly recognise the power of my inner strengths which came into play and guided me to making the various transitional periods successfully.

The first innate strength is the burning desire to see things unfold the way I had envisioned and never to give up until I knew I had prevailed. This, I would say, has always been my mantra in times of any change. When you have a burning desire your soul ignites with a special passion which remains alive day and night. This passon infuses your entire being pulling you towards the realization of your goal. It is in such moments when you sense that you are guided and know beyond all doubts that you will succeed.

With that desire burning profusely inside you, you find yourself commiting to giving the best possible of yourself.This is the decision that comes with the consciousness that you have the power to turn things around and achieve precisely what you want, even if you don't yet know how. 

Every transaction in life, personal or professional, successful or unsuccessful starts with a single decision. Just think about your own life. Were you truly aware of all the things which have happened in your life up to this present time? Did you decide consciously on these things or they just happened? When you look into these inquires, you'll realize that conscious decision is the key to any kind of success in life.

You can learn how to make wise decisions by developing skills of clear thinking and focus. It is important to make sound decisions especially  in times of changes. Indecisiveness often cause ambivalence which can set up internal conflicts and escalate into our mental and emotional state of mind.

Retaining indecisive and ambivalent feelings for a lengthy period can block off our ability to be fully effective and creative and therefore render us despondent and unhappy. People with high self image and strong self esteem are not afraid of making decisions because they know that making decisions is essential to living a full life.

Never ask yourself if something is possible or not and don't let any lack of resources stop you in making a decision. When I decided to go ahead and start all over at the age of 56 with a new line of direction in my business, I didn't know where the money and the other resources I required would come from, but I knew I wanted to go ahead and do what I had to do. Today, a year later, I marvel at Creation as I continued to experience miracles upon miracles at every corner I turned!

As Wolfgang von Goethe said: "Whatever you can do,or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. BEGIN IT NOW", start where you are now and be decisive.

Taking Responsibility For Your Life

Well, Happy New Year to you all! I wish you a most gratifying 2008 in all areas of your life

Now that a brand new year is well on its way, like everyone else I have been thinking what would be the best way to really make a conscious change in my life for this year. I realise that each one of us is at a different level of experiencing and development, but irrespective of this difference, we all yearn for the same things: love, happiness and inner peace.

Reflecting on this, made me perceive that achieving these things ought to be simple for each of us, yet it isn't. The question which surfaced was: why not??

I believe that love happiness and peace elude most of us because we are often afraid to take responsibility for ourselves. It is always easier to expect others to do things for us or when things go wrong instead of looking within ourself and asking what we could have done better, we search outside for the culprit and point fingers.

"I would have liked to have studied, but my father thought I was better off learning a trade, or  "My family did not support my idea, so I gave it up". These are some of the things we say and try to hide behind them in order to shirk personal responsibility. If we want things to start looking up for us, we need to stop making excuses or living in the past. Now is a good place to start. It is never too late to make a change, all it requires is to take responsibility for your life and decide to take the first step, no matter where it takes you. 

The great Winston Churchill once said "the price of greatness is responsibility". We can begin to move in the direction of greatness when we stop complaining and focus on being happy.

I made this conscious shift recently by simply cleaning up after my husband has made some mess in the kitchen. In the past I would just have overlooked this thinking that since he made the mess, he should clean it up. I can tell you, this felt good and gave me a sense of peace , because I didn't have to dwell on the unsightful scene.

Taking self responsibility infiltrates into various aspects of our lives. It is up to the individual to recognise where it is in their life that they are either afraid to take responsibility or are being stubborn.

If your intention is to be successful and be happy, 2008 could be the year to bring all that to you, once you begin to accept responsibility for yourself and your actions. 

I wish you the clarity to always know when to step courageously forward!       

   

Can Speaking from Your Heart Make a Difference to Your Change?

I'm sure you will agree with me that most people say and do things in a reactive manner. By this I mean, when confronted by others, people tend to either become defensive or extreme apologetic. These two traits clearly indicate insecurity and lack of inner strength.

It is a fact that most people are not aware of these traits. The reason being that they have internalised their behaviour and use this in dealing with difficult interactions with others. Take for example someone who was asked about his or her honest opinion concernng a plan or a project.

I did this with one of my assistants the other day. What evolved out of our conversation was most unfulfilling with cagey, none transparent answers! Most people seem to believe that by speaking from their heart they will hurt other people's feelings. And those who become defensive simple react out of an inner compulsion. The truth is that both of these tactics put people is a very awkward position and make them "seem" powerless. What people don't realise is that you are never powerless, especially by speaking out from your heart!

If you want to truly be in control of your life, then you have to start speaking from your heart. When confronted by changes, it is wise to become very clear about what is going on inside of you. This especially as far as your feelings are concerned. As long as you are living in a "fog" you cannot take control of your life and you leave a wide door open for others to manipulate you.

Not only does speaking openly from your heart makes an impression on other people which makes people respect you, but it is a breath of fresh air which animates your partner in conversation. Even in business, your boss will always appreciate a honest down to earth communication. Because communication is about coming from a clear space of inner communion.

Never fear voicing your opinion. You have a great gift of inner percepton within you. This guides you in finding the right expressions to effectively communicate what you feel without being hurtful or mean. You owe it to yourself and others to always speak from your heart. I simply don't believe in hiding from my sensing, because in the long run it saves people and myself a lot of pain and agony even if it doesn't appear so from the start.

It is good to remember that change happens for a reason. One of those reasons may be to simply look within yourself with new eyes and be honest with yourself. And maybe it also points you in a clear direction that things have to be different to get to where you want to be.

    

Paradigm Shift: Beware of Your Expressions!

Wow, What a jolt I got! Recently, as I was in the process of explaining some distinctions to a sweet elderly man he listened very attentively without as much as interrupting me. When I finished speaking, he gave me a wink and said: "all that barrage of words, are you trying to knock me out cold?"

This caught me completely off balance, that I just starred back at him in amazement. Here was a simple, caring veteran whom I have so much to be grateful for, considering how he has always been there to give me support without any complaint whatsoever. And I thought I could help him come to a better understanding of certain modern technology. Mind you, not that I am an expert or anything of that sort as far as technology goes. But, I have learned to apply one or two things better, and I was only trying to get him to let go of his resistance. Boy, what a crock!  He obviously had a more simplified approach!

This episode brought me down to earth. It squarely reminded me of how we sometimes make things complicated, especially when we are looking through a "dark glass". Which often happens in times of changes. The tendency to complicate life is something I have always tried to be mindful of. One aspect of how we make things difficult is when we refuse to let the past be in the past, but burden ourself with what "used to be", how we once were or what we once had!

It is a fact that learning to fully live in the present can simplify our lives. Especially when you are trying to make changes or are forced to make a change. A great help here is to become more aware of what you say and the expressions you use. Cherised memories are balm for the soul, but can keep us locked away in the old if we live too much in the past.

I have found that people who have problems with letting go of what was, usually struggle with identifying with the present. This is sad, because it is only in the present that we can truly be happy.It matters not what was yesterday or last decade, this moment holds the promise for tomorrow.

When you make a paradigm shift, you make a conscious shift in your awareness. It is as if you suddenly see clearer with an inner mind. A mind that reveals deeper truth and knowledge to you. This was what happened to me as I tried to be helpful to that gentle veteran. I realized that even though all my "gibberish" did make sense to me, they had only served to reinforce the dear man's resistance even more. Lesson learned: the simpler the better. Give only what is required and not go overboard with words and expressions.

I hope to keep this lesson tucked consciously away under my belt!

      

 

Overcoming Limiting Self Talks and Beliefs

Anyone who has ever experienced drastic changes knows exactly how you can get "hijacked" by those ranting voices in your mind and head.

Thoughts such as "can I do this", will I succeed or how do I manage all of this alone at my age?" can no doubt stop us from moving forward and jeopadize all good intentions if we give in to them.

So what is the solution to not only ignoring the sabotaging self limiting talks but truly ridding yourself of them for good?

As an energy psychologist, over the years, I have been introduced to several great tools which help overcome many unwanted crippling self talks. Some of these tools are rooted in traditional psychotherapy methods such as Jungian, Rogerian, Gestalt and Imago to modern holistic energy balancing methodologies such as: The Sedona Method, EMDR (Eye Movement Disensitization), Core Process Therapy etc. One method I have found to be highly effective is the EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique by Gary Craig. It is also called The emotrance Method.

This technique works via the merdian energy system, freeing you of any blockages in your subsconcious mind and opening up your flow of energy.

Activating Your Intuition for Happiness and Success

Are you aware that the real answer to achieving balance and attaining the joy, happiness and success you so long for lies in knowing exactly what to do, when to do it and how to do it.

This may sound simplistic to you. But I can assure you it has been my experience that in order to get  great results for anything, particularly in times of changes, you have to get the what, when and how of what you want crystal clear in your mind.

This is where the power of your intuition comes into play. It has always been my innermost conviction that life was never meant to be a "battle field"- which I am sure most people are experiencing - and if this is the case, then we must have been provided with the right tool to handle our life with ingenious competence. After my near death experience in 2005, I made a promise to find a way to help people choose a much easier way to having sustainable happiness and security in their lives.

Well, I do believe that the answer came to me last year when I called to life my first "Awaken Women  International Conference". The conference gave me some deep insights about a number of things, most especially it showed me how simple it is to find answers, when we give our intuition the priority of honour in our life. By this, I mean, have you ever felt a strong impulse to do something and you held back, only to regret not having followed through? That is what I mean by "the priority of honour" - the first place.

I have found that when people put their intuition in the first place and use it as the guideline for making their decisons and taking actions, everything runs smoothly. It is only when we start allocating our rational thinking the "guiding force" that we trip. And we all know the results of that.

We only require to listen more within and trust that our intuition knows the best answers and the most beneficial ways to go about anything. Activating your intuition shouldn't have to be a chore as some of my clients have remarked. It ought to come naturally to us, because it is an innate way of self preservation and being happy.

Our intuition shouldn't be relegated to the back bench and aired out occasionally.

I have found that once I have made a strong connection with my intuition, it has become my best ally, friend and tutor. It teaches me all I need to know at the right time on a deep inner level of consciousness and I am able to blend this knowing into my daily life. It has also render my life more peaceful, giving me more control of my life. When people ask anything of me, I simply tune into my intuition and offer a clear answer which may not always appeal to them but keeps me serene.   

That to me is what now makes my life a success and joy.

You Can and You Will

   

Anytime I feel overwhelmed and a little apprehensive, I either withdraw and seek balance in some solitude or I simply do some journaling. I always feel more composed and peaceful after getting my thoughts out into the open.

Recently, I discovered that my success is not, as I had thought, dependent on how much I am able to accomplish in a day, week, month or even a year, but on the joy I reap from remaining consciously active. This discovery came to me as I was working on my goals for 2007.

Here was I sitting there writing away all these goals, fully pouring my heart and soul out on to my small book (I have a "goal achieving booklet") when suddenly I had an uncanny feeling. It was as if someone stood beside me and made me slow down my writing. 

The next thing I knew, I was flipping through all the previous pages and reading over again all my former goals.

Guess what? I realized that I have practically achieved everything I had ever written down in that small book since 1995! Wow! what an eye opener that realization was to me.

In all those years of changes and adjusments I have been through, I have continued to move in the directions of fulfilling and attaining what I had set out to achieve, even in the face of turbulences and uncertainties.

I was reminded of the saying that achieving your goal is more in the fun of the journey there as in the attainment of the goal itself. Another recognition is that by writing down my goals, my subconscious registered every details and stirred me continously in any way it found suitable for me to attain my goals, even at times when I was no longer aware of them.

I heard the words You can and You will achieve anything, when you fully open yourself to the vibration of what you want, repeatedly ringing in my mind.

Of course, it is a BIG plus when you do achieve your goal!
